Meet Steven: A Life Full of Music, Curiosity and Joy

If you spend a little time with Steven, you’ll quickly discover someone who is curious, cheerful, and full of surprises. He has a wonderful sense of humor, a contagious laugh, and an impressive memory for the things he loves.

Steven is especially interested in music, ballet, movies, and Disney trivia. He enjoys pianist Jim Brickman and pays attention to the details many people miss, including the credits at the end of a movie. He can often identify actors and choreographers, and his knowledge and vocabulary surprise those around him.
 

A Lifelong Love of Performing Arts

Ballet holds a special place in Steven’s heart. He appreciates the music and enjoys following the movement and stories onstage.

That love of performance goes back to his younger years. Steven participated in school and local theater productions, including High School Musical, Hearts of Talent, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Peter Pan, and Fiddler on the Roof.

A Personality All His Own
Steven has a knack for making people smile. When someone suggests trying something new, especially a new food, he often responds, “I don’t mind.” It’s a little phrase that captures his willingness to give things a try.

And when he hears an idea he really likes, Steven has another signature response: “Why didn’t I think of that?”
At CLASS, Steven enjoys spending time with friends, learning and sharing his interests. A turkey sandwich is a familiar lunchtime choice at the program, but at home he is often happy to explore other foods.
 
Family, Adventures, and Connection
Steven lives with his sister Elizabeth, and family has been an important part of his life and adventures. When he won a Caribbean cruise for two through a credit union, he chose to take his parents along on the trip.

Steven has been part of CLA’s CLASS Day Program since 2018. His enthusiasm, warmth, and love of conversation make him a memorable part of the community. Whether he’s talking about ballet, recalling a movie detail, or delivering one of his favorite sayings, Steven reminds us that there is always something new to discover about the people around us.
