Creating homes where people thrive — not just live.
At Community Living Alternatives (CLA), we believe home is more than a place — it’s a foundation for belonging, growth, and independence. For more than 40 years, we’ve supported adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live in safe, stable, and welcoming homes throughout Colorado.
Through our personalized matching process, we get to know each person’s needs, preferences, and lifestyle to find the right fit — because when the match is right, everything else can flourish.

Two Residential Options
We offer two flexible residential programs, empowering individuals and families to choose the living arrangement that fits best:
➤ Family Caregiver Program
Stay at home with the people who know you best. Under this option, parents or relatives can be compensated to provide care at home, with ongoing support and oversight from CLA’s experienced team. This model allows individuals to remain in a familiar, loving environment while receiving the services they need to thrive.
➤ Host Home Program
Join a welcoming home with a carefully matched provider or family, where you can build meaningful relationships and enjoy a stable, inclusive living environment. Host homes may support one or two individuals and are selected through thorough interviews, background checks, and visits to ensure safety and compatibility.
Our Approach
What sets CLA apart is the depth of support behind each placement. Our residential team includes an Intake Coordinator, Residential Director, Program Managers, Registered Nurses, and Direct Support Professionals — all trained and committed to person-centered care. Together, they provide 24/7 support, regular check-ins, health and safety monitoring, and responsive problem-solving to ensure every home remains stable and supportive.
We intentionally keep caseloads small, allowing our staff to build strong relationships and respond quickly to changing needs. Many providers and team members have been with CLA for over a decade, creating the consistency and trust that families value most.
Payment options through Medicaid Waiver (DD and CHRP -- ages 18+) or private pay for most SIS levels.
