Your Vote, Your Voice: Understanding the 2026 Election

With Election Day just around the corner, seven participants gathered for CLA's October Person Receiving Services (PRS) Advisory Group meeting on October 29 to talk about voting, understanding the ballot, and making their voices heard.

Using the 2026 Colorado Ballot Breakdown, a plain-language voting guide developed by THINK+change, the group explored the issues on this year's ballot and what voting "yes" or "no" means for different measures.

The guide breaks down complicated ballot language into easy-to-understand explanations, helping voters make informed decisions based on what matters most to them.

At CLA, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to understand their choices, express their opinions, and participate in decisions that affect their lives. Voting is an important part of that independence and self-advocacy.

The discussion also reinforced an important message from the guide: "Your Vote Is Your Voice. Nothing About Us Without Us!"

Thank you to everyone who participated in this month's discussion!
